Good Faith Estimate Notice

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental healthcare will cost.

Under federal law, healthcare providers are required to give patients who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including mental health services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost for any non-emergency healthcare services, including mental health services.

You can ask your health care providers for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule services.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

*Although confidentiality extends to communications by text, email, telephone, and/or other electronic means, I cannot guarantee that electronic communications will remain confidential and/or that a third party will not access our communications. There is a risk that our electronic communications may be compromised, unsecured, and/or accessed by a third party. I use Google Voice for phone calls and SMS text messaging, and ProtonMail for email. ProtonMail is encrypted and therefore more secure than Google Voice or the Squarespace “contact” feature found on this website. Privacy risks are also present by paying for psychotherapy services using a credit/debit card, or by using insurance to pay for services. I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the privacy policies of all electronic communication and/or payment services before using them so you can make an informed choice about the data you may be sharing with these providers.
